Chennai to Goa - 2119kms in 5 days in Mighty Scorpio

A Road-trip that will last long in Memories,

We had planned for a visit to our Kuladevata temple in Mardol, Goa and we had 5 days to do the trip, but we had other ideas as well.

My brother who suggested this trip also suggested the places to visit

1.   Shravanabelagula, Karnataka
2.   Dharmasthala, Karnataka
3.   Kudremukh National Park
4.   Sringeri, Karnataka
5.   Agumbe, Karnataka
6.   Udupi Krishna Temple, Karnataka
7.   Bhatkal Kuladevata, Karnataka
8.   Murudeshwara, Karnataka
9.   Gokarna, Karnataka
10. Shri Mahalasa Narayani Temple, Mardol, Goa
11. Hampi, Karnataka
12. Navavrundavan, Anegondi, Karnataka

My Job is to be the guide for the entire trip, well i was gladly. i so liked the job that i will be my family's official guide. Hurray :)

Chennai-Goa-Chennai


DAY 1:

We started from our home in Medavakkam, Chennai at 4 am on May 1st 2013 and were headed towards Bangalore ( the usual route so nothing special here)

We had not booked any rooms nor had any idea how the road condition would be as i had read some bad review in some forums that the shivaji Ghat road after Shravanabelagula towards Dharmasthala, but surprise, the road was freshly laid.

We were so fortunate that in total of around 2119 kms we would run only around 100 kms of bumpy patchy road.

After Bangalore we took a detour to Bangalore-Mangalore highway to Shranavanabelagua. The Highway was in excellent condition, my bro did 150kmph on that highway for 20 mins or so and no problems at all. We had our breakfast on the highway and reached Shranavabelagula before lunch time.

It was scorching hot and we had buy a pair of socks for all and had to climb 650 steps to reach the top and the climb was  worthy after all to check out the tallest monolithic status in the world at 57 feet.
